Dr Rodney Pearce AM

Country & city GP & Medical Officer of Health, Eastern Health Authority, ADELAIDE

Dr Rod Pearce AM is a country and city GP and the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for the Eastern Health Authority (EHA), Adelaide.

He is also the MOH for MedVet, a national company that offers immunisation services around the country, and sits on the Board of MedicAlert Australia and Headspace, respectively.

Dr Pearce became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) on Australia Day 2012. He received the award for his long-standing service to medicine as a General Practitioner, through contributions to national medical organisations, and to education.

Dr Pearce was a member of Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) from 2006-2012, where he contributed to the 10th edition of the Immunisation Handbook.

Dr Pearce is currently the Deputy Chair (and one of the original founding members) of the Influenza Specialist Group (ISG), and served as a member of the Federal Health Advisory Committee, National Primary Health Care Strategy, Department of Health and Ageing, from 2008-2010.

Dr Pearce is also the Joint Chair of Australian General Practice Network (AGPN).

Dr Pearce was Chair of the Council of General Practice, Australian Medical Association (AMA) from 2004-2010 and a member of the Public Health Committee, AMA from 2004-2008.
