For Benefit Medicines attended the 10th Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Society for Breast Disease   – September 29, 2015

For Benefit Medicines (FBM) Directors, John Hurley and Barry Frost, along with Queensland- based sales representative, John Jordan, attended the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Society for Breast Disease at the Brisbane Convention Centre on September 17-19, 2015.

This key meeting on the breast disease calendar proved a great platform for FBM to share its story, raise its profile and meet with doctors and breast cancer advocacy groups.

With close to 250 delegates from Australian multidisciplinary breast disease teams, as well as representatives from patient support organisations, including Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), the meeting proved a great launching pad for sharing FBM’s message that “Now, every cloud has a silver lining.”

Attending the meeting, FBM Director, Barry Frost said, “Our aim was to understand the issues that healthcare professionals and patients face in managing breast disease.

“We were able to discuss the aims of FBM with clinicians and nurses from across Australia.

“The overall feedback we received upon sharing our vision and the purpose of FBM was incredibly positive,” said Barry.

“One of the most consistent compliments we received from delegates was the delight they expressed in how FBM can make a genuine difference in growing the funding pool available for breast cancer research and patient support in Australia.

“It was great to hear the latest information on breast disease and the comments from the many clinicians who visited our trade display,” Barry said.

FBM Director, John Hurley, was impressed by Louise Turner from Reclaim your Curves, and her message regarding heightening awareness and understanding of the issues facing women post- mastectomy.

“Many clinicians were familiar with our FBM medicines and appreciated the true difference they can make to Australian patient support and medical research,” said John.
